Horror on the 13th – August 2012 (The Walking Dead)

by bucky· August 13, 2012· in Horror on the 13th· 0 comments tags: AMC's The Walking Dead, Image Comics, Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead
Hey every one and welcome to a brand new Horror on the 13th! My name is Sheldon and I will be taking you through a Zombie filled apocalypse this month! I would like to start out by saying I am by no means the authority on Horror and please keep your hands and feet in the car at all times as I would hate to have to take your head clean off.I don’t want to mislead anyone. For me the Horror genre is a tad old and over used to the point of being saturated and in most cases not very interesting. When I read a comic or watch a film I like to be able to have walked away learning something on a personal level. That to me is what makes a great impression and frankly it is what makes it worth my time. In most cases when I walk away from a horror comic or a film it just seems like a cheap carnival trick to try to thrill or gross me out. I usually walk away empty. However not in the case of the subject I will be covering this month, no sir! This month I thought […]

Did you hear the news? Evil Dead is officially being redone! I’m kind of excited, mostly because it’s Sam Raimi’s company that’s doing it. I think that’ll get it done right. You’re probably wondering why I started this installment with some movie news, and you’d be right to wonder that. “Has Susan finally lost it?” is what you’re asking. The answer is no, not yet. I know I’m here to talk about horror comics, but I felt that this Evil Dead news was a nice lead in to July being ZOMBIE MONTH!!!

Sequential Sunday: The Walking Dead

by John Mueller· December 20, 2009· in Sequential Sunday· 0 comments tags: Image Comics, Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead
Nobody likes being the last person to show up at a party, and boy do I feel like I’m the last person to show up at this one. I consider myself an avid fan of all things horror since childhood, but I have to admit that until now I have not read the incredible Image comic The WalkingDead. But like a straggler at a blowout drinking fast to be on everyone else’s fuzzy wavelength, I am attempting to make up for lost time. In the last week or so I have read all ten of the currently available trade paperback collections of The Walking Dead, equaling the first sixty issues of the series, and am feeling completely overwhelmed and astounded to say the least.
