Horror on the 13th – February 2012 (vampire,Zombie andLove)

Happy Valentine’s Day! Well, the day before it anyway. It does seem like a good day for horror. I think that it has to do with the fact that if you’re single, then this is a shit holiday. If you’re in a couple, this is a stressful holiday. Either way, there’s a little bit of horror involved. Plus, Valentine’s Day has hearts and hearts pump blood. Scary stuff involved! Speaking of blood, this month I am featuring the most romantic of all the monsters (to the mainstream media): VAMPIRES! Personally, I think that any monster can be romanticized. In fact, most of them were born from the romantic era, but that’s a different article for a different time. I digress, vampires have come to symbolize forbidden love.

With Halloween upon us, Susan, Simon, and Sheldon have decided to travel to France and film a very special episode of “Did You Catch All That?”. Okay, so that’s not entirely true, but Simon is speaking French. Susan announces some changes to the Halloween Costume Contest. And Sheldon? He’s just scary. See what we all pick in our “We’ve Got Issues” segments, including who has a very special issue he’s sharing for the first time. Progress is always encouraged in comic addiction. A very big event comes to a close in the Marvel Universe (or does it), and we take a look at one of the most talented creators out there is “I Made it Myself.” Check out how crazy we can get in the month of October! “Did You Catch All That?”

Horror on the 13th: August 2011 (Females)

Happy “Horror on the 13th” everyone! I’m here, and I’m so ready to blow your minds with amazing horror comics that you need to be reading. I love the horror genre (as you well know by now), but let me explain a major reason that I have taken to these books and movies so easily – the women. This may seem strange coming from a woman, because horror takes a lot of criticism over their use of females in movies, television, and comic books.

It’s the 13th and you should all know what that means (you know, since we established this would be happening once a month last month). It’s time for the monthly dose of HORROR! Muahahaha! Ok, so that doesn’t work as well when I type it, but I can assure you that I have an excellent evil laugh. Just wait until you have to see me do this on video! I gave a lot of amazingly scary suggestions as to what to read last month in the horror department. This month is no different, but I am not here to summarize. I feel that skimming over some of these books simply does not do them justice. I would rather give you some background and history into the frightening field of horror that I feature. We all know that the best ghost stories told are rich and full of meaning. I want to treat this horror column the same way.
